The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is hiring 24 Pre-Assessment Consultants across multiple locations in South Africa. Job Purpose

As a Pre-Assessment Consultant, you will assess the validity and compliance of prospective claims submitted to RAF. You’ll ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements and help claimants move smoothly through the process.

Key Responsibilities

1. RAF Pre-Assessment of Claims Jobs

  • Register and track incoming claim documents
  • Determine eligible benefits based on submitted documents
  • Check compliance with RAF processes and rules
  • Identify duplicate or linked claims
  • Apply lodgement and prescription rules
  • Confirm mortality details via Home Affairs
  • Provide clear feedback to claimants on assessment outcomes

2. Quality Assurance

  • Maintain high standards in all pre-assessment tasks
  • Monitor and implement unusual occurrence procedures

3. Raf Admin & Support Vacancies

  • Capture acknowledged claims
  • Handle correspondence and draft professional documents
  • Support in creating presentations, reports, memos, and letters

4. Reporting

  • Track performance against set objectives
  • Report risks and suggest process improvements
  • Provide ad hoc reports as needed

5. Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure timely updates and resolution of queries

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in a relevant field
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the claims or insurance environment

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of RAF claim products and Motor Vehicle Act
  • Analytical and decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with PFMA and accident-related legislation
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Client service orientation and ethical conduct
