City of Johannesburg Transport Department is committed to empowering local students through valuable work-based training experiences. We are excited to offer paid student internships in our Transport Department, providing a unique opportunity to gain real-world skills and kick-start your career.
Must Apply : City of Johannesburg (CoJ) is offering Internship opportunities with a maximum duration of eighteen (18) months.
Internship Opportunities Available:
- Internship: Revenue – Assist with inventory management, cash handling, banking, and compliance.
- Internship: Transport Transformation – Support general office administration, conduct research, and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

Location: Old Mutual Building, 75 Helen Joseph Street
Duration: Up to 18 months
Remuneration:
- Students with a completed qualification (min 360 credits): R9,531.54 per month (basic salary, no benefits)
- Enrolled students: R3,500.00 per month (basic salary, no benefits)
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a resident of Johannesburg
- Must have never participated in an internship program before
- Internship: Revenue: Grade 12 (NQF level 4) plus Diploma in Accounting/Finance or NQF level 6 related qualification
- Internship: Transport Transformation: Grade 12 (NQF level 4) plus Diploma in Administration Management/Transport Management (NQF level 6) or currently studying towards a Diploma in Transport Engineering
